| The Powell Family has enjoyed
living in Kentucky for more than 200 years. The first Powell relative in Kentucky was Ambrose, an American Revolutionary War Veteran from Orange County, Virginia who fought with Captain Joseph Early, Major Boyce and with General Steven’s Brigade. He was there when the British burned the warehouses at Manchester. Ambrose moved to Kentucky in the late 1780’s supposedly somewhere near Estill County. This Web Site’s information is about the descendants of Ambrose whom include Lovely Abraham Powell, Hudson J. Powell and George Washington Powell.
